2014 Plum Creek Watershed Protection Plan Update to Stakeholders set for May 15 at Lockhart State Park

LOCKHART - The Plum Creek Watershed Partnership (Partnership) welcomes the public for comment on the Draft 2014 Update to the Plum Creek Watershed Protection Plan on May 15, 2014 at the Lockhart State Park Recreation Hall.

The park is located at 4179 State Park Road and Farm-to-Market Road 20, west of U.S. Highway 183 in Lockhart.

Sign-in begins at 6:00 p.m. A barbecue dinner will be provided for attendees. RSVPs are appreciated but not required. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Introductions and quarterly updates will begin at 6:30 p.m. Plum Creek watershed coordinator, Nick Dornak, will provide a brief overview of current events and activities involving the Partnership. A Steering Committee review of the Draft 2014 Update to the Plum Creek Watershed Protection Plan will follow.

"This is an important meeting for the Partnership. Implementation of the Plum Creek Watershed Protection plan began in 2008 and set the standard for many of the plans that have followed. This update to our stakeholders will highlight the accomplishments of our cooperative efforts to improve water quality in the watershed as well as the challenges we continue to face," said Dornak.

Funding for the development and support of the Plum Creek Watershed Protection Plan is through a Clean Water Act grant provided by the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
