Governor Abbott Appoints Bowers to Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Lindsey Bowers to the State Soil and Water Conservation Board for terms set to expire on February 1, 2028. The Board administers Texas’ soil and water conservation law and coordinates conservation and pollution abatement programs throughout the state.

Lindsey Bowers of Inez is a grain merchandiser with United Ag and farms with her family. She is a secretary and treasurer with the South Texas Country Elevator Association and a member of the South Texas Cotton and Grain Association, Texas Corn Producers, and Texas Sorghum. She is on the poultry committee with the Victoria Livestock Show and the sponsorship committee with the El Campo FFA Booster Club, as well as co-chairs St. Philip Pioneer Booster Club. Bowers received a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business from Texas A&M University.

We look forward to working alongside her as we continue advancing conservation efforts that protect Texas’ soil and water resources for future generations.” 

This appointment is subject to Senate confirmation.
