Each year the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board (TSSWCB) and the Association of Texas Soil and Water Conservation Districts recognize and celebrate individuals that dedicate themselves to the conservation and management of renewable natural resources. These outstanding conservationists will be recognized during an awards luncheon on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Kalahari Resorts in Round Rock, TX.

Life Beneath Our Feet: Texas FFA Students Champion Soil Stewardship in Statewide Contest

Three outstanding Texas FFA students rose to the top of a competitive statewide field to claim top honors in the 2025 Soil Stewardship Public Speaking Contest, held June 6–7 in Stephenville. This year’s theme, “Life Beneath Our Feet,” invited students to dig deep, literally and figuratively, into the critical role that healthy soil plays in sustaining agriculture, biodiversity, and the environment.

Green Dragons Win 2025 Texas Envirothon

The Green Dragons from South Texas ISD Science Academy claimed first place at the 2025 Texas Envirothon, held April 5–7 in Richmond. The annual competition challenges high school students in environmental science, natural resource management, and problem-solving. This year’s event was hosted at Long Acres Ranch and the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
